That probaly lasted until he was about 6 months and he's been in the big tub ever since. I only fill it with a couple inches of water but he absolutely loves it. He goes from sitting to lying, from back to tummy and is rolling all over the place. But we did it by putting his infant tub (that goes over the sink) into the big tub. Just be warned, it definitely took a few days to transition! He was scared!!! But after three days, he was totally fine with it and it was smooth sailing from there. We just recently (18 months) got rid of the infant tub and now just use the big tub as is. He didn't mind that transition at all. It went very smooth! I don't know if this would help you with your older one to transition in the tub, but I bathe the baby first (7 months now) in a couple inches of water (she can also sit up on her own) and then unplug the drain. Or, I keep the water running and give her a quick bath that way, and then I take her out, dry her off, change her really quick and keep the water running for my son's bath. If you aren't comfortable putting him in the tub alone, I have heard good feedback from friends who put the laundry basket in the tub for support! She gas a transitional tub, we took the infant recliner out and she was in a mini tub, and she doesn't do well with change so we procrastinated. She screamed in the big tub at first, but once she realized she could splash and play she was happy. I got pregnant when he was 7 months old so by the time he was old enough to switch to our tub I was too big to bathe him hunched over kneeling outside the tub. Now it's just habit but he's really getting too big and it's dangerous. Any tips on switching over? How did your LOs like the big people tub? </p>
