I am so happy for you! In the book he says a lot of babies start to consolidate sleep between 12-16 weeks (M is 13 weeks) so I really hope this happens for us, too! I have NO idea!!! I think, maybe, a bit of both. I've been reading my Weissbluth book (the man's a genuis but completely mad! "If you have to pick older children up from school during a scheduled nap time, have a sitter come and watch your baby") and have been following some of his suggestions. We have also installed a black out blind. She woke after the first hour and struggled to settle so we had to pop into her nursery to reinsert her dummy a few times but, eventually, she fell into a deep sleep and I had a lovely hot bath. </p> <p>She woke at midnight and 4am for a feed but had drifted back off to sleep before I had got back to my bed to check the monitor! What a star! </p> <p>She woke at 8.30am in a great mood and had her breakfast bottle. We played together, happily. By 10am, she was showing signs of tiredness again so I put her down for a nap in her cot. She fell asleep easily and slept for two and a quarter hours!!!!! I even managed a little nap myself! </p> <p>I got her up at 12.15pm and gave her a bottle. We played and chatted for just over and hour and then she started to get tired again.... so I took her up to her nursery at 1.30pm and put her back down for her afternoon nap. That was an hour ago and she is just stirring now....</p> <p>It's amazing! I feel so chilled and she is such a happy girl when she's well rested!! So *this* is what everybody means when they say to enjoy it?</p> <p>I'm going to savour this because I know nothing ever lasts with babies!!! </p>
