@blackbird: It varies, but it doesn't seem to matter what I eat.

I go to bed at 8:30 or 9:00 sometimes. I get at least 8 hours of sleep now and it really helps as long as it's quality sleep.

In my first trimester, I used to go a conference room and put my head down for 15 or 20 minutes during my lunch break. Even if i didn't doze off, it helped me feel refreshed.

What are you eating for lunch? 2-4pm is a typical lunch crash. I get SO SLEEPY if i eat a lot of carbs, pasta, or chinese food for lunch. I have a lot more energy if I don't eat sleep-inducing foods

@tororojo: That does help a little. I do need to also be better about eating more protein. It's not that I don't eat any, but I should be better about having a high-protein snack on hand!

@Smurfette: Normally I would but it's like 83 degrees and humid here. If I nap in my car I'll be covered in sweat in like 30 seconds ;)

When I get really tired at my desk, I get up and walk around a bit. It always wakes me up some.
Could you take a quick nap in your car/desk before your commitment tonight? 20 mins can really help me.

Poor thing! Can you get up and stretch when you're really tired? Maybe that will get the blood flowing and give you an energy burst. Or maybe if you have a high protein snack you can grab for a pick-me-up.

@JerricaBenton: Not yet but I'm leaning toward it. Today I have a heating pad, it's helping some. Glad to hear yours helped!

I'm most tired in the mid-afternoon -- 2-4 p.m. I could change my hours -- I'm hoping to do that when LO starts daycare because his daycare closes at 6, which is when I currently get off work. But I don't feel like I have a good reason to ask for that right now. And honestly, I'm worried it would make me more tired, because I would be getting even less sleep getting up an hour earlier.

@ladyfingers: Have you tried massage for your back pain? It has helped me so much! I'm not a big chiropractor fan but I've heard that has worked wonders for some pregnant ladies.

Are you more tired in the early evening? Would there be any way to change your hours so you come in earlier and leave earlier? I don't know if that would help though, if you're super tired all day.

@MamaMoose: Nope. I've taken a lot of time off and I feel bad asking for more, because they've been more than generous so far and they don't have to be. Not to mention, I live 30 minutes away and my commitment is on this end of town, at 7. I don't get off work until 6. Wouldn't work.

I'm so miserable with the back pain too, I'm so scared of the next 16 weeks lol! I feel like all I do is complain lately.

Can you leave work a little early and go home to rest before your commitment? I know the feeling. I'm almost 34 weeks and I'm exhausted all the time from lugging this big belly around. And last night I didn't sleep a wink after 3am so I am HURTING.

@Mrsbells: No! I'm 23 weeks along. This is on par if not worse with my first trimester exhaustion. I'm napping at my desk (turning my chair around since I have an office with all windows) but it doesn't help.

@highwire: My car is right outside my CIO's office (I'm in pregnant lady parking). But it's also so effing hot outside, there's no way I could tolerate it.

@ladyfingers: Are you in your first trimester?
I would nap at my desk sometimes or ni my car, or splash really cold water on my face

I had to take naps in my car. Any chance you can do something like that for like 10 minutes?

I can't even fathom how I'm going to get through the next couple of hours at work, and even then, I can't go home because I have a commitment I cannot miss -- so I won't get to go home until around 8:30. I'm so tired I want to punch myself in the face. And I went to sleep at 9 pm. last night!

I have been so exhausted these past few weeks even going to bed at 8 or 9. What do you do when you work?
