He used to run a news/city website that would have a live web show on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, complete with hosts/hostesses on the weekend (interviewing drunk people, etc). He usually left the hosting to pretty girls, but during Halloween, Mardi Gras, any special event he'd dress up...as a jester, as a woman, one year as Britney Spears...plaid skirt and pigtail wig and all. Seriously. </p> <p>He was like that off-camera, too. More than once when I was working on a paper in high school he would bust in wearing a brightly colored wig and black lipstick (which he was forever trying to get me to wear) and playing air guitar. I could only raise an eyebrow at him. </p> <p>I wouldn't say it embarrassed me, exactly (although it certainly had the potential to). It was just his personality. Then again, who isn't in middle school? My mom was a very loud cheer-er at my sporting events, and I was always the worst one on the time.</p> <p>I realized in high school that they were just being normal parents, ha. He didn't do it on purpose, it's just him. For example:</p> <p>I was in the high school marching band. On senior night your parents are supposed to walk you across the football field and show you off.. Before we walked we stood off to the side waiting our turn. In front of the whole school my dad lays down. On the football field. To take a nap. </p> <p>I learned very quickly to just laugh it all up and not get too embarrassed though, as that would get me nowhere. </p>
