She liked it well enough but I LOVED it cause it had a really heavy base so she can't tip over and it had a seat belt to keep her in. I used it up through 13 months but mainly as a seat for LO for when I put on makeup. I would definitely not pay full retail price for one. I've also seen them go for $10 at baby consignment stores. The only DS has used has been in his physical therapy appointments (he was going for plagiocephaly) and then it's only for a few minutes the entire session. So, I have been sitting him in his bumbo and talking to him while I do email or mail, etc. I only do it for short periods of time, like 5 minutes, and always supervise the time. If he starts to slouch or becomes tired, I take him out. She was able to sit for about 10 minutes and she was so happy and laughing her head off. They're all over CL and at yard sales! </p> <p>I started using it early on because M had a flat spot on the side of his head and we needed to keep him off his head during play time. He did an hour of tummy time a day, but it was nice to be able to sit him up to see his toys from a different angle.</p> <p>It doesn't make them better sitters, but it does help them sit before they're able. M sat just this month at 7m old and we've been using the bumbo since 11 weeks. Now we use it with a tray as a safe spot to sit him on the patio. His sitting is great, but if it topples, it's really hard and he can't reach to eat rocks from the bumbo!</p> <p>We love our and use it a lot. I picked it up on the street corner at a neighbor's house. If you look closely, the spot for the bum is lower than the legs. I guess its designed that way to keep the baby sitting down in there? </p> <p>We bought a used one because they are super cheap used (like $10). I was happy we had it for the few times we used it. By the time she was big enough to use it, she could push backwards and tip over so we always had to be sitting right there with her (even if its on the floor). So at that point, if we are sitting with her on the floor, we just preferred to be holding her.
