I agree with all of the above. After my second m/c, I hid all pregnant couples from my feed. And I didn't get mad at myself for feeling upset or jealous or anything. They were understanding, and when I felt up for it I checked in with them to see how they were doing.

Can I just say that I don't think your emotions are the problem here? I think you're doing the right thing by tuning out of FB. It's NORMAL to be jealous or sad. Social media just makes it so we get to see everyone's good news at once, even people we wouldn't otherwise find out about! Remember that most people only post brag-worthy stuff on there and you aren't seeing their whole life. And yes I recommend taking a break from fb if you can...or removing those people's posts from your news feed. I do when I find that I feel that way. (Not necessarily about babies but about jobs when I was struggling looking for a job, about people buying houses, etc.)

Just my two cents.

Ok so I'm def taking a break from Facebook now I have to either take a break from Instagram or figure out how to control my emotions better.

I would let myself feel all that I needed to feel about it while removing them from my feed. I think trying to force myself to be happy for them wasn't healthy, so I didn't try it.

I avoided Facebook for awhile, or hid that person's post/posts from my news feed. In my circle of Facebook friends, baby announcements seem to go in waves, so there were times when I stayed off Facebook altogether, and times when I could just guard myself a little.

I let myself wallow a little bit and sometimes called my best friend to vent without judgment. When my turn did come, I never mentioned the pregnancy online.

I let myself feel whatever happens naturally and then move on. I don't feel bad for getting jealous, if that's my immediate reaction, because it's valid to feel that way when someone has something you want. The key for me is not to dwell on it.

How do you manage your feelings when people are sharing their pregnancies through social media? Obviously being happy for them, Facebook this week has been drowning in baby announcements and I'm having a harder time than I thought I would with it all.
