Instead we say "soft" or "nice" when she pets the dogs. We have two cats and she is completely in love with them. DD surprisingly has been very good with our dog; pets her the same way we do. But she did pulled on her tail once. I always said "Gentle" to our LO. Its better now but still at 3 yrs old I still need to remind her to be careful. She doesn't know her strength and that she can hurt them. We have 2 bigger dogs and then two little ones. Trying to teach her to be gentle to all of them no matter the size. Now we have the most gentle and kind (and patient) dog there is. She's so good with the girls and just lets them pull on her and then when she's had enough she runs away and hides. I don't know how many times a day I say "soft touches" and remove her hand but all I can say is thank goodness our dog love the girls! anyone else say "soft touches" more times than they can count! ha </p>
