@cascademom - thanks for the input. I bought a box after going to the doctors office yesterday. Our primary just did some blood work and did my annual to make sure everything is a-ok. I wanted to try the cups and see. I'm hoping to be a success story in using this.

@princessbaby - I'm sorry you had difficulty using them. Maybe have the DH help put it in? And I know once they're in, you're supposed to push the front-end up to conform to the shape of your body.

@happygal - It does seem like once you "let go" that's when it happens. It's hard to completely let go once you have starting doing extra steps while TTC other than the dance. All that knowledge is always in your head. I also think maybe there are things in my life just need to be in order. We currently hate our neighbors and are looking to move to another place so maybe it will happen at the new place. I'm hoping to get a BFP once I try the softcups.

@mrs. bird - I'm hoping for a BFP for you. If you're going to be anything like @cascademom! I'm excited to try it myself and I'm hoping this will aid us during our TTC journey.

@chesamine: Yep, I did the Instead Softcup for two cycles and got pregnant on the second cycle. I hated, hated waiting with my legs propped up after sex in hopes of conceiving. Once I learned of the Softcup, it meant my lazy needs.

After sex, I would put one in while still on the bed, then go to the bathroom. I wore mine overnight and took it out in the morning. There would still be "man juice" on it hours later. Using the Softcup gives you a really good idea where your cervix is. I never feared that I would loose it up there. It's like a suction cup to the cervix keeping the sperm up close. I used one during my peak ovulation times and when my OPKs were positive.

I would use them again for LO #2. For me, it felt like insurance in the process. It took us 4 months to conceive our LO. The last two months, I used Softcups. Seriously, they're super easy to use and idiot proof. It's really no different than using a tampon or a Diva Cup. The surface area is a little bigger than those two, but the concept is still the same.

Sorry--I wanted to write more, but the 't' and 'c' went out on my keyboard. My stir crazy puppy was jumping all over me on the couch.

@Chesamine: I'm sorry things are feeling stressful. I want things to be spontaneous and fun as well, especially as a newly married couple, and I worry that the further we get with TTC, the less likely that will happen. I've read from more than one member here that once they decided to let go, they got pregnant. It's hard b/c I find all the data collection (OPKs, temps) to provide a sense of reassurance and to be kind of fun, but I do think it can add pressure.

As for the Instead Softcup, I tried using it once in college during my period, and I had a hard time getting it out. I know with practice it would be fine.

@Princessbaby--that was my main concern as well.....if I didn't insert it right, I could mess it up all around. I think for that reason it might be good to practice using it before having sex.

I think I read somewhere that the company is trying to get approval to market as a TTC tool. It's worth a shot!

I never could figure out if I was putting it in right... One time I put it in, got up, and everything came rushing out so then I got freaked that I was blocking the swimmers! I also got cramping when I put them in...

I wanted to know if anyone has had any experience in using the Instead Softcups while TTC.

We are in cycle 10 in our journey. It's super frustrating but I'm trying really hard not to let it get to me. I have stopped using OPKs for now because I hate having to schedule the dance with DH. Although I feel that the OPKs did give me proper positive/negative results. It's just not fun this way and we've only been married for less than a year. Also I feel perhaps no charting, other than regular time-of-the-month charting, will be better for us mentally and physically during this journey.

I read reviews about the product recently and although it is primarily used to replace a tampon/pad during the time of the month, couples who are TTC have found a different use for it and apparently have been successful.

Let me know! :)
