We don't use liners are sprayers either. In fact, I'm kinda clueless about what to do with a sopping wet diaper after it has been sprayed. Like, would you wring it with your hands? I just use toilet paper and scrape it off for the ones that don't plop off easily. For the messy ones, I will do as much as I can with the toilet paper, and then I spray a liberal amount of Bac-Out and so far, that has worked for us with even the messiest of poops. I admit, I do dread poopy diapers and I actually quickly place them on the bathroom floor and deal with it when LO is asleep.

Ah this is such a polar topic. I hate that I will have to set her in the crib and then do something with the diaper in a separate room. It's just too easy before food! And we may be in the transitional phase for awhile, with BLW. She always poops once at daycare and her second one is typically early afternoon for DH. I usually luck out hahaha.

Stains don't bother me. I figure I can always bleach. I just don't want to send full on poo through the washer since wits not water soluble like it is now

Used a sprayer. Many times you can just plop it off into the toilet though with no spraying needed. Never had a problem with sending a sliiiightly streaked diaper through the wash without spraying.

This reminds me of one of those moments I had when I thought I was super smart and tried to rig up a sprayer from the shower in the bathroom. I bought this super long hose, got the whole thing attached and then realized I couldn't turn on the water unless I was closer to the shower, but I was too far away from the toilet, lol. Major fail.

I used liners but we didn't flush them and honestly, they didn't save me any hassle. I am okay with stains, it took me a LONG TIME to get there, though.

I use liners and love them. My LO is 16 months old and while sometimes she has solid turds that just roll off the diaper, often it's way more mushy/messy - especially when teething, for some odd reason. Anyway, liners keep the mess contained for us.

We have never done liners and it is not that bad. We have a sprayer and a bucket (like a potty pail that DH made) which helps contain the mess a lot.

LO's poops didn't get super solid right away so we still spray almost all the poops at 21 months just to be sure.

We have a sprayer, but we use liners. I ended up preferring the liners for the mess factor. It's so easy to flush or toss the liners. I put one in her diaper pretty much every time. She's a morning pooper, but every once in a while she mixes it up on me.

i agree that solids poop is WAY WAYYYY easier than ff/bf and transitional poop. it just rolls right off into the toilet. even when it's been smushed a bit... :)

i don't use a liner or sprayer for his diapers anymore once it became more solid. yay!!

i'm considering just sticking with sposie's for #2 (due any day) and transitioning him to cloth after he poops solid. LO#1 can keep using our small stash of CD until then.... it will be way less work! yay

Sprayer! You only really need it for a little bit while you're transitioning. Eventually the poop just plops right in the toilet!

Poop is gross when you introduce solids...not quite logs but thicker and smellier than formula/bm poop! I use liners and I use them for almost every diaper except overnight because she never "goes" then.

I use Bumkins liners and don't have a problem with scrunching yet.

I have a sprayer and love it. Most of the time the poop just rolls off into the toilet, but sometimes it needs a little nudge from the sprayer (it took a while to find the right setting, I have sprayed poop all over the bathroom more than once... :/ )

We bought liners and then never really used them. They bunched up while she was wearing them and while they helped a little we still had a fair amount of poop on the insert (we use FLIPs) so it had to be dealt with anyway...
I am a fan of the sprayer and while it seemed like a lot to pay at the time, this thing: http://www.amazon.com/Spray-Pal-Diaper-Sprayer-Splatter/dp/B00B2AZJH6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1378758035&sr=8-1&keywords=spray+pal+cloth+diaper
So far, so good. And LO has the occasional solid poop that will just roll into the toilet, however most of the time we have something closer to peanut butter :/

@blackbird: I have liners but they're a pain to me and not worth it. They scrunch up and it's just not worth it. I thought we but a sprayer but honestly haven't needed it. Most of the time it just slides off (cotton or fleece doesn't matter) and I swish it if it doesn't. A total non issue after the first week or so(when. It was stickier and grosser)

@beebug, interesting! i just roll up her diaper and wash the whole thing since it's ff.

But yeah i was wondering if putting a liner in every time would just be a hassle and how bad it would be if i forget....

We haven't gotten a sprayer. i was hoping to avoid it since it's such a small bathroom. And sounds so messy. Maybe it's not as big of a deal as I'm thinking it is, though.

I do both. The liners help for sure, but they don't alwasy contain everything. I end up spraying about 25% of the time. LO doesn't seem to have very solid poop though, so the liner is usually a must for us.

I used a liner more for ebf/ff poop versus now in solids!

Her "turd" just rolls off and doesn't make much of any mess at all and the odd softer one or poopsplosion I handwash it before it goes in the wash with the rest of 'em. Doing that one bad one versus the time putting a liner on for miss fidget, worth it!

We're going to start giving E solids in a few weeks....she tends to poop twice a day. Once at daycare and once in the early afternoon for DH (while i'm at the gym, hehe).

Do you prefer liners over a sprayer? If so, what kind? Do you stick a liner in her diaper every time you put one on her? Should we start doing that soon, or just waiting until she starts actually swallowing more solids?

Tell me about the poop.
