@Mrs. Chen: She loves it! I just ordered a 2nd for our rotation! So far I've just put avocado and banana in it but she loves...It will buy me like 20 minutes sometimes so I can put on makeup or something! Definitely get the large...It is not that big...I saw there was a small one too and I cannot imagine how small it must be if the large is so compact!

@wheres_c: our next pediatrician appt isn't until October! At her 6 month, doc just said to start with 2oz and give as much as she will eat. Good idea about increasing and see. I will increase serving amount first and go from there!

@princessbaby: ooh I was just lookingt the kidsme feeder today and thinking of ordering one! How does your LO like it? Do you put frozen fruit in there? My LO has no teeth too so that might be something cool to gnaw on!

@mamamoose: wow 8 ounces! Haha! I gave LO puréed apples for the first time last week and she didnt seem to like it. I think it was too tart and texture was a little gritty. I will have her try it again!

@oliviaoblivia: thanks for the info! Sounds like I gotta increase the solids!

@oliviaoblivia:
Lol, yes it's my own food/dieting issues that make me say, "Will she be an overeater????" And we saw a very unfortunate overweight little girl recently, only around 6 or 7, and DH actually asked me, "What if Harper's a chunky kid likecthat? She eats a lot. How do we handle that?"

Hmmm well I will start just feeding her until she quits. She is tge same, really obvious when she's had enough so I'll just go with that! Thanks! She is army crawling so maybe she does need more...And even when she's not crawling she is still Action Jackson, always busy- lol, so maybe that is why:)

@PrincessBaby: I know. I feel like it goes against everything my 30ish years of dieting has taught me. He said that at this age they become so active so quickly that they need extra calorie reserved above what bm or formula can provide. I did notice that she had started ramping up her nursing sessions once she started crawling.
When she's had enough she does make it clear, so that's what I'm going with now.

@MamaMoose: yay!! I'm glad my child is not headed for obesity and there are others like her lol;).

@oliviaoblivia: So that's interesting that ped said to eat until she doesnt want anymore! H has finished pouches before and just to experiment, I would open another one and she'd keep eating and I always quit bc I was worried I was overfeeding and she'd end up with a bellyache or something! So I usually just stop when the pouch is done....Do you think I should feed more? How big are their stomachs right now? I just feel like she ears a lot and she still nurses basically just as much as pre-solids....

I just had a conversation with our ped about this. My LO is 6.5 months and can put food back like a linebacker. I was concerned she was eating too much. I pretty much got reprimanded for thinking that she was overeating. He said to feed her until she decided she's done. On a typical day she'll have 4oz. of yogurt and half a banana for breakfast and 2 oz of veg 2oz of starch and an oz of meat for dinner. All while still nursing 6-8 times a day. We're going to be adding lunch and snacks this week.

@PrincessBaby: ummmm.... My kid ate EIGHT ounces of puréed apples the other day. We only do solids twice a day instead of three times but I swear she would eat as much as I would be willing to give her! Plus she still nurses/has a bottle six times a day. So don't feel like you have the only porker! M is a little thing and if anything the doc wants her to gain weight so we don't hesitate to give her lots.

Okay my LO is a heiffer compared to everyone else! I always nurse first, and will wait half an hour or so before offering solids, but my little porker is on 3 solid meals a day...She is 7.5 months and I feed her the earth's best pouches which are 4.2 oz and she eats a full one for lunch and dinner, but she only eats maybe a quarter of that in the morning. Probably because she's already had 2 big nursing feeds after sleeping all night, so she's not really interested in solids. We dont always make the morning solids happen but I SAH so I do try to keep her schedule.

I also usually do a snack in the afternoon in her kidsme feeder with banana or avocado and she tears that up too.

Then she still has room to nurse to sleep. Hog!

Our LO is 7.5 months and on one 3.5oz pouch a day and a snack. We are moving this week, but plan to up the solids again next week.. He drinks about 6 8 oz bottles a day. Our pediatrician told us to up his solid intake to 3 "meals" a day due to the amount of formula he's drinking.

If I were you I would probably bump it to a full pouch (or about 4oz homemade), twice a day. Then slowly add in an optional 3rd snack like yogurt.

Our pediatrician said that by 9 months he should be regularly eating 3 meals a day.

Our info was based on his weight (18lb at 7mo) as well as formula intake 36-40oz day.

If you have an appointment soon, I'd discuss it there, but I would start to increase and see if he is interested.

I never really measured by ounce, but at 7 months, i was feeding them 3x a day! Still do. Sometimes, if we were out and about, 2x, but mostly 3.

LO is currently eating one 2oz puréed veggie or fruit once a day. She's been on solids for about a month now and finishes every serving AND her three 6oz bottles at daycare. I feel like if I give her more solids she would eat more. Should I increase the serving size from 2oz to 3 or 4oz? Or should I keep the same serving size but go from one "meal" to two meals? How many ounces and meals did your LO eat at that age?
