At this point I would not drop any bottles. Just add the solids and if he takes less of the bottles I'm sure the teachers will tell you.

@butterbean: I would have them do the bottle first, and then at some point after do the solids...it can be right after or like an hour after, that's up to you/them...I think you just want him to still get most of his calories from milk/formula, so you want to offer that first.

@hilsy85: thanks! so then do they eat bottle + solid during the same feed? i mean, for example, should he have his 4oz bottle first and then when he is done with that, eat his rice cereal after?

At that age, solids are just in addition to breastmilk/formula, so I would definitely not drop any bottles. Good luck!!

6 month old DS started solids this week and he will be starting daycare next week (sigh). I'm trying to figure out the best way to pack his stuff (bottles + solids).

Right now, he gets 3 bottles of breastmilk (two 4oz and one 5oz) while i'm at work...do i still pack 3 bottles (same amount) when he goes to daycare? or do i drop a bottle and substitute for solids?

any advice/tips would be greatly appreciated :)
