We just had good success with puffs on a flight with our 7.5 month old. He would feed him one at a time and he was entertained for a good amount of time. Good luck!

Warning - both pouches and sippy/straw cups can pressurize during takeoff and will squirt everywhere with great force when you open them (I learned this the hard way with a straw cup of apple juice!)

For cups, open the lid to let out air before you open the spout/straw and give it to your LOs. For pouches, I'm not sure there's another way except to open with caution - I always used jars to avoid this concern.

We use the Choomee bite valves for pouches in the go. So much less mess.

@Pollywog: 11am flight. I think for their ears, I would like to bottle feed as we take off. It will be a 5-6 hr flight.

We introduced pouches for traveling (when at home she eats table food or homemade purees) & it went great. We did have to get our hands swiped at security since we had them in our carry on, but otherwise all went fine.

Pouches (get ones that are neutral-ish colors so less stain potential)
Take a couple bananas (it sounds gross but I would bite off a piece and mush it a tiny but with my mouth and then hand it to him).
Yogurt melts? If you've done them already.
Really soft steamed carrots and peas in little Tupperware containers.

Those are all things I've done in the past on a flight and have been pretty easy and a hit.

I can't remember if your babies are old enough for puffs or Cheerios yet? Those always provided lots of distraction for us.

If your LO's haven't used pouches yet there's a spoon attachment you can buy and just squeeze a little at a time into the spoon.

https://www.amazon.com/Gerber-Graduates-Pouch-Spoons-2-count/dp/B00AWLZFF2

FYI I got mine for about half that price at target

Sounds like a good plan. Have you tried pouches with them yet? I would get them used to them beforehand if you can. Some LOs don't really like them or take awhile to get used to them (my LO never liked them).

How long of a flight and what time of day? Would it be possible to feed right before boarding and after landing?

I would avoid purees on flights because of the mess, but could see giving him a banana chunk or cooked veggies to munch on. Still messy, but less messy

Anyone feed solids on a long flight?

Babies have reduced their formula consumption and look forward to solids (purres).

I don't think they'll be full if we just do bottles.
One will have their own seat and the other will be a lap infant.

I'll bring food pouches. I guess I won't need spoons or bowls because I'll use the squeeze pouches to go directly into their mouths.

I'll need to make sure I have Bibs and baby wipes with me.

Anything else?
