Maybe get a snack or a coffee at the rest stop? That way you can eat and it's easy to let the dog out to potty. How do you make it work, just in terms of pit stops for food and bathroom? </p> <p>I recently was thinking about driving down to visit family and leave our dog with my sister while we were traveling, but it's a five hour drive and I knew I'd have to use the bathroom. Plus c hates if we stop and get out of the car then right back in. But I wouldn't really like leaving the dog in the car for the five minutes t took to use the bathroom, much less long enough to eat lunch. And that's in the cold- forget in the summer! </p> <p>So... Is this just impossible? Or am I missing something? </p>
