Could you buy a snap and go on Craigslist while you decide? Then if you do get the double you can resell the snap and go for what you paid.

@fuzzypeaches: I have a B-ready and am planning on something similar. I'm hoping to get a part time babysitter for LO #1 when I am on maternity leave, so I like that we can reconfigure and either I take the infant in the infant seat, or the babysitter takes the older LO in the regular seat---but I can also use it as a double.

What about a single system that can BE a double but doesn't have to be? I'm mostly in yor position although DS is younger so I decided to do the city select instead of a true double do that I can use it as a single too or just a snap and go.
I bought it early to get use out of it as a single and I really like it!

Do you use your single stroller a lot these days?

I would get the universal snap and go. Easier when you're on the go with the baby and need to do doctor visits, etc.
I can't imagine pulling my double out whenever we wanted to go out with just the baby or both kids. Snap and go is so much more convenient. DD is only 20 months older and was ok walking/being carried/sitting in umbrella stroller.

You'll have a much better resale on a double versus a travel system. So even if you don't like the double you could sell and change.

Before I even got to your scenarios I was thinking you should do something similar to scenario 2, so that's what I voted.

I would go ahead and get the double stroller to get as much use as possible.

DS is 27 months. We have a single umbrella stroller we love and will continue to use.

We need to get a new infant seat (and extra base) and stroller / stroller frame for DS#2.

We've tentatively decided to hold off on buying a double stroller. But we're also a maybe 3 kids family. So with that in mind.

scenario 1: do I buy the chicco keyfit and a universal stroller frame...and stick to our plan of waiting on the double stroller purchase.

Or scenario #2: do I buy the britax infant seat and bagile double stroller now, so that we get the most use out of it?
