You probably already have all the answers you need, but here's my responses too:

1. Yes, there's even an extra chair in the room so Hubs was able to sit and watch.

2. We didn't ask, but my gut is saying probably not.

3. We got a ton of pictures. We didn't have to ask - the tech automatically printed them during the scan. There was no charge.

4. I stayed in my regular clothes - just had to lift my shirt and unbutton my pants so they could get to my stomach.

5. We didn't do the secret gender reveal, but I'm sure our tech would've done it if we asked. I'd suggest bringing your own paper/envelope for them (and maybe even a pen) and I'm sure they'll do it.

1. Yes, it was never even a question of who was in there.

2. We didn't ask.

3. They automatically printed some for us.

4. I stayed in my regular clothes as I was wearing jeans and a tee.

5. We had an elective U/S at 14w, so we knew it was a girl, but we did want her to confirm, so we just said we didn't know.

1. Absolutely. He has been to every u/s we have ever had.

2. We tried but the room was too bright to really pick up well. We did video our 11 week ultrasound though and it turned out great.

3. yes - they gave them to us automatically at no charge. We've gotten photos at ever u/s

4. I stayed in my regular clothes but did have to remove bottoms because they had to also do a vaginal u/s to check the length of my cervix.

5.We had the tech just blurt it out haha

1. I might have been the one you're thinking of whose husband wasn't allowed in the room. For some reason this is the policy at all the u/s clinics in my city for pre-natal u/s. I don't know why. I think it's disgusting and ethically unsound. To be clear, he was allowed in at the end (and so was my mother), but not until after the tech did all the measurements. Thankfully, based on the other responses on this thread, it sounds like my city is the only one with this ridiculous policy, and your DH will more than likely be allowed in the room :)

2. I didn't ask. The screen was turned away from me 95% of the time (until DH and my mum came in the room).

3.They automatically printed some for us. There was no charge.

4. Regular clothes.

1. My DH was deployed, but would have been allowed if he was home.

2. Yes. I asked and the US tech just said to wait until she told me it was okay to start recording.

3. They gave me a lot of pictures and I didn't have to ask. I didn't have to pay either.

2. We gave them a blank DVD to record it.

1. Wow, wtf? I've never heard of that. Of course, all my scans are at my OB's office so idk if it's different if you have to go to a separate facility, but that seems like an insane rule. In fact, at an earlier scan my husband was running late and he came in halfway through and the tech told me that if that happens again just let her know and she'll wait for him to come. She had just finished but redid the scan so he could see!

2. I don't know because we didn't ask. I'd heard so man things about how it wasn't allowed elsewhere, I didn't bother. Because...

3. We did get photos, and knew we would because we always get photos at all our scans, even if it was a scan for cervical measurement. She would do the measurement then look at the baby and print photos for our benefit. No extra cost.

4. Stayed in regular clothes -- it's an external scan, meaning not transvaginal, so there was no need to change. (I didn't have to wear a gown for transvaginals either though, just took my bottoms off and had a paper draped over me.

5. n/a, we wanted to know the gender.

And just to add, the anatomy scan is unreal and amazing, especially since it's your only one! You see so much stuff and we were asking her left and right what's that, what's that? They have most of their parts developing by then so it's just like a little mini human. It's so cool, and I could stare at him moving around for ages!

3. Automatically as part of the report. No charge. But most were of the heart and other organs. 1-2 of face.

1) yes, my husband has been with me to 2 appts and my sister another one. There was a huge TV screen and he could see everything, ask questions, etc. He even gets up and points at things on the screen to confirm parts b/c he can read cross sections pretty well.

2) I didn't try to but I did snap a couple of blurry shots of the screen while on the bed with my phone. The tech didn't say anything. And I got a DVD of our 12 week u/s to take home. My GF went to the same dr. And her husband has video from his iPhone actually.

3) Yes! Only one time I didn't (it wasn't a scheduled u/s and really short just to find the HB) and I regretted not asking. All other times we got pics w/out asking (and video as mentioned above).

4) Regular clothes except for my 6 and 12 week (too early) when I had transvaginal u/s.

5) we found out. But they would be good about not telling u. Though in most cases I've seen by 20 weeks, even u and ur DH could probably tell what it is.

2) Didn't ask
3) Yep! She printed off extras too so we could give some to grandparents
4) Mine have all been tummy ultrasounds, so I just lifted up my shirt and unbuttoned my pants some. She then always covers my pants with a cloth so the ultrasound gel doesn't get on my pants.

3. Yup, we got like 4 or 5 photos. We didn't have to ask for them, they assumed we wanted them, which we did :) NO charge for them.

2. I didn't ask, but I'd guess they'd say no.

3. She gave me a strip of 10 photos or so - I didn't ask because she told me she was getting good pictures. There was no charge.

4. Regular clothes but I wore a top and bottom, as opposed to a dress.

I haven't had my anatomy scan, but based on all my ultrasounds to date:

1. Yes, DH definitely comes in and stays in the whole time.

2. No photography or video is allowed. I think this is for liability reasons.

3. They always print off a bunch of photos for us for free.

4. I always am in my regular clothes. If you wear a dress, you'll just pull that up, and they'll put a sheet over your botomnhalf. If you wear pants/skirt, you van just push the waist down and raise your shirt over your tummy.

5. I asked the tech to do this last time if she could tell because D/H was out of town. She said that was fine. Then, she just started showing me the parts and explaining why she couldn't quite tell which gender it was. So, I'm not sure what she would have done if she could actually tell the gender for sure. :-/

1. Absolutely, he was welcomed at all of our ultrasounds, and stayed with me the whole time.

2. No photographs/videos at my doctor's ultrasound, but we also got elective 3D/4D and we could do whatever we wanted.

3. Yes, pictures were automatically printed at all of my appointments. I did not get a video from any of my doctor's ultrasounds, but did from my electives. I also got a cd of images at my final doctor's ultrasound, but they had just upgraded their equipment.

4. I stayed in my clothes, but did have to unzip my pants/shorts and lift up my shirt.

5. N/A- we found out asap, plus we can both read ultrasounds, so it wasn't too hard for us to see the necessary "equipment".

For those of you who have had an anatomy scan...

1. Were you allowed to bring your husband into the room with you and could he stay the whole time? I heard someone say they wouldn't let her husband in, and that upset me. It's his baby too, I want him to see it.

2. Were you allowed to video/photograph the ultrasound?

3. Did you get to have photos printed off to take home? Did you have to ask, or did they do it automatically? Did they charge you for the photos?

4. Did you stay in your regular clothes or did you have to change into a gown?

5. If any of you asked the tech to write down the gender and put it in an envelope instead of telling you for a gender reveal, did that work out okay?
