I'm doing lots of tights and leggings right now. If I was due later in the summer I would try Target to see what they had in their Spanz knock-off brands.

baby powder is a miracle as well. Preggo sweat is like none other.

I thought the maternity spanx were awful. The material in the belly area were as thin as cheap pantyhose and had runs in them the first day. I had to return them. Maybe I got an off brand or something.

I just used baby powder. Too hot in Texas for extra layers. I like the idea of aerosol deodorant, though. Sounds less messy.

Leggings or opaque tights in the winter/spring/fall. Body Glide in the summer ( http://www.amazon.com/BodyGlide-BGCB-Bodyglide-Original-Anti-Chafe/dp/B005L8YVRO ). Used it for triathlons (pre-pregnancy) but a friend recommended it in lieu of Spanx in the summer -- genius!

Deodorant works well to prevent chub rub if you can't find anything. I use the aerosol kind and just coat my inner thighs.

I am wearing maternity "Assets" (the cheaper Spanx) right now under my dress for exactly that reason, and they really are pretty comfortable. Not like regular Spanx at all.

Got them on Amazon for $20 http://www.amazon.com/ASSETS-Blakely-Marvelous-Unbelievable-Underwear/dp/B002VJT8CY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1394482005&sr=8-1&keywords=maternity+assets

I mostly wore maternity leggings, which wasn't perfect, but it helped with the rubbing and sweat. Also, this Monistat chafing gel powder helped when I wasn't wearing something underneath:
http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=139254

I bought it to use as primer on my face, btw-- works great for that!

My maternity Spanx were really awesome . . . it wasn't tight on my belly at all(!), and provided some much-needed support for my legs. It wasn't shape wear as much as it was support wear! Sure, it smoothed things out a little, but that was it!

I had chub rub even before I was pregnant, and always wore some kind of little shorts under dresses and skirts to prevent it.

I'd wear Spanx (or a cheap version of Spanx) with something tight-ish but more often, I'd just wear Luvees, which are very lightweight and much more comfortable. I also had some basic bike shorts from Target that I liked.

Now that I'm pregnant, the chub rub is getting worse, and it's almost spring so I'm going to want to wear dresses and skirts more. But I can't find anything to wear underneath them now. I've seen a couple pairs of maternity bike shorts online but they're really expensive, and since I'll need a few pairs, I'm hoping to find some that are $20 or under. I also know that Spanx makes some maternity shapewear but I'm not looking for something to hold me in, just to cover me up.

Any suggestions? What do you wear under dresses?
