When I was pregnant, my husband took the frozen pizza from the freezer to work that I had been looking forward to ALL week. I was seriously angry for the entire weekend at him because I was set on having that pizza :)

He wasn't being insensitive, he just didn't understand the emotions of a pregnant woman who felt sick, exhausted, and didn't want to cook anything! He got an earful about it though and I think he felt bad.

Hope you and the cubs feel better soon!

Sometimes T eats all the leftover for his bedtime snack and I just want to cry because it was supposed to be my lunch. The good news is that he thought your cooking was tasty. The bad news is there was no soup for you (name that show) and for that I am truly sorry.

Hm, that's a good one.

I think I'm that person sometimes. This may seem like a silly scenario, but you know, when something hits hard, it hits hard.

Earlier on in my partnership with DH, (6 months in), and we were eating ice cream. Joking around and teasing, I finished the last 3 spoonfulls with out sharing. My DH's eyes started watering! For him sharing food with someone is love. Literally. Ps, he's Italian. Explicit love was not tied to food in my family.

The point of this seemingly tangential story is that I became sensitive to his values and what kind things he does. I think if you express to dh the degree that it felt insensitive to you, I think it's reasonable to expect him to be more thoughtful next time.

I hope your cubs are feeling better, despite their cold throats and tummies. :wink:

The cubs have sinus congestion crud that we've been battling all weekend. Mr. Bear is well aware of this and suggested that we make soup (from scratch) both Saturday and Sunday. We ate chicken soup Saturday evening and the leftovers for lunch Sunday, then made beef stew for Sunday evening.

My husband knowingly took the leftovers from the beef stew to work. There's no other soup in the house, the cubs (and now me) still have this crud, and I could just thump him!!

<end vent>

Anyone else's SO do something just... Dumb, insensitive, etc lately??
