I've done that watching the webcam at my dog's doggie daycare. I could watch dogs play all day!

@chopsuey119: I may cancel cable. Who needs TV when you can watch your LO sleep (or not)?

ALL THE TIME! Sometimes when I put her down for a nap, she gets right back up and makes a lap around the perimeter of her crib and I'm in my room coaxing her through the monitor, "Come on, sweetheart, you're so tired...Just lay down and go to sleep." Then when she finally just sits, then lays her head down, sticks her thumb in her mouth and after a few toss'n'turns, she sleeps...SIGH...I love.

Tonight Olive woke up on her tummy and stuck her head up to look around... meanwhile I was watching her on the monitor, saying, "You can do it baby! You can self-soothe yourself back to sleep!!"

And then sure enough, she did it... and wow, it was like someone sunk a three pointer right at the buzzer. Adrenaline floods the system and you're cheering for the victory... until you realize that you're all alone and watching a b&w screen about the size of a cell phone. And not the new smartphones, but more like the old dumb phones. Then you feel kinda dumb.

Or maybe that's just me. Anyone else get ridiculously excited or devastated watching your LO on the video monitor?
