So sorry for your loss!

What about "What a Wonderful World?" Or, if she liked the Rat Pack, "I'll Be Seeing You" by Dean Martin.

At my MIL's service last fall they used Meanwhile back at Mama's by Tim McGraw. It was very fitting to her and her family.

I love the version of Over the Rainbow that you mention.

@loveisstrange: Also thought of Time After Time? I love the Cyndi Lauper version but the one by Eva Cassidy is beautiful and slower.

I honestly never heard her listen to too much music of her own. My mom said she liked big band, "rat pack" kind of stuff.

My only personal stipulation is no religious music.

@lawbee11: I was thinking about using the Iz K version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow, actually.

@cmomma17: I love Yesterday. Might look into that one.

@Mrs. Pen: I love me some Josh Groban, but that song would DESTROY my mother. I cant do that to her.

Sorry for your loss.

What kind of music did your grandmother like?

Was she into swing, or big band, or classical? Did she secretly like Willy Nelson? We were a little unconventional for my dad's visitation and played music he loved. I guess I take the celebrate life approach.

So sorry for your loss :(

I know it's a bit of a sobbing song, but I love To where you are by Josh Groban. We played it at my cousins funeral.

I like Lawbee's idea of Somewhere Over the Rainbow.

Come Away with me by Norah Jones?
In My Life by the Beatles?

Have you heard "The Best Day" by Taylor Swift? I heard that recently at a memorial, during a video montage, and it was so lovely and touching. She looped it smoothly and it really wasn't too noticeable.

I'm sorry for your loss
Music recommendations can be tough since tastes vary so much. At my dads service in January my mom ended up choosing "will the circle be unbroken" for everyone to sing together.
I had also wanted Fare thee well love by the rankin family and my sister wanted yesterday by the Beatles

My grandmother passed away and my mom has me doing a photo slideshow to show at her memorial lunch thing we're doing. Im stuck on music to play. My FIL was easy, we just played his music from his band.

I dont want people sobbing, but I want something nice to go along with the photos. They cover her whole life and include pictures of my great-grandparents, my mom and her siblings and all the grandchildren and great grandchildren.
