We use halo swaddlesacks and wrap him up with just one arm out for about a week now. He does ok. He kept himself up the first nights by grabbing at his face, but he's already gotten better at just touching his face instead now. He's 15 weeks. She sometimes looks like she is sucking her thumb but then quickly gets impatient and adds more fingers. But now that we're swaddle weaning him the only thing they've really been good for is pulling his pacifier out of his mouth which just makes him ticked off. I loved it when Wagon Jr. found his fingers (he sucked on his first and middle fingers) because he could soothe himself so well with those. More recently, he has figured out how to suck his thumb. He shoves his thumb and sometimes his fingers in his mouth so deep that he gags himself (not so bright!) I thought by now since he's so fixated on his fingers and hands that he would have figured how to self soothe with them. I was sort of waiting to swaddle wean until he was showing signs he could do this. He's 4 months. </p> <p>Did your LO figure out how to sooth by sucking his hands or a finger? If so, when? </p>
