@glimmersnaps: I don't have one, I should get one though. Thank you!

@jennylynn: Oh dear a hernia doesn't sound fun at all. I asked my chiropractor about it today and she said if a woman has a good core/toned abs prior to pregnancy it will definitely cause the muscles to feel like they're tearing apart. I was glad to hear it wasn't anything uncommon!

Omg mine hurt bad during pregnancy! It felt like I had done a bunch of sit-ups the night before. My doctor wound up saying that he thought I had a type of hernia common in pregnancy. I don't know what it was, but fortunately it got better shortly after pregnancy!

Do you have a good support band? I think those can be helpful with the pain you are talking about.

@shopaholic: interesting...I do the same but definitely did not think to ask my doc if that's a preggo no-no. I will start trying to remember to let it all hang out! ;) Will ask doc at my appt on Thurs about it as well. Front and side plank are the only core exercises I do these days, when I do work out. Hope you're feeling well, I love your avatar pic!

@lolabee: well, I did read a post once where a personal trainer said that doing crunches and abdominal exercises during pregnancy douse cause the muscle to separate. Having seen what the result of that looked like on one of DHs friend before, i was really scared! I asked my OB because I think I always have the tendency to clench my ab muscles unconsciously. She told me just try not to do that anymore and let my stomach just stick out. Lol! Trust me, it takes conscious effort to not unconsciously clench my abs! I've read if you really want to work on your core and abs while pregnant, plank is the best thing to do.

I remember the sore stomach muscle feeling while I was pregnant. I can't remember when it happened, but around half way sounds about right. It definitely went away... but was replaced by a whole host of other uncomfortable feelings as I got more pregnant...

@shopaholic: Yes! This is exactly what it's like. I guess it's the one thing that I've been most surprised about with pregnancy. I was curious if it could have something to do with 'being in good shape' before getting preggo but that would mean tons of ladies would feel like their insides were being ripped apart. My concern was if it could lead to separation. It seems that the only spot that is softer is in the middle going down from my belly button.

I think I know what you mean, though I've had it for months already! It feels like the inside sides of my stomach (where the obliques are) are so stretched and tight and hurt! I had pretty good stomach muscles before so I'm not sure if it has something to do with it. Every time I eat,I feel like the insides are stretching so much it hurts!

Hi ladies! Just curious if anyone else has experienced extremely sore stomach muscles through out pregnancy? I have had bouts of RLP, mostly earlier on but I would say since 25 weeks or so my stomach muscles have becoming increasingly more sore. My stomach always seems to be suuuuper tight. Is this just normal stretching? If so I'm not sure how those good ol' muscles will hold up for another 11-13 weeks!
