@Corduroy: that's why I'm hesitating, I don't know if it's fair to her to wean for the chance that it might help. Good luck to you, hope it happens soon!

@FliegepilzHut: I haven't tried temping cause even with the weaning LO still doesn't STTN and I usually have to get up at least once a night :silly: judging from OPKs my LP was 10-11 days, which I guess is technically still OK.

@Anutka: Could you temp to make sure your luteal phase is "normal"? I would think if your cycles are regular, things are probably "balanced" enough!

I weaned at 16 months to speed up TTC #2 after a few months without success. You'll never know how long it will take you with and without weaning.

@FliegepilzHut: I am pretty positive I'm ovulating. Had positive OPKs and CM. I'm just thinking if nursing suppressed my period for so long that maybe it's not letting my hormones be balanced. ... I don't know, I'm no doctor :P

I think (but please take this with a grain of salt) that if you are only BFing once a day, you are probably ovulating, and therefore can get pregnant. Once pregnant, I can imagine you would want/need to wean, though!

I am doing some soul searching here and am happy to hear anyone and everyone"s opinion :)

LO always loved nursing and we did on demand for a long time. We wanted to TTC #2 for a while now but I didn't have a period. So I slowly initiated weaning over the summer and by 23 months we went down to just once a day at bedtime and I finally got my cycle back.

I just started cycle three now. I realize it might take a few cycles for my body to get back in to it, but I keep thinking that it might not be possible to conceive until I fully wean.

LO is now just over 2, it's definitely just comfort/habit. But I always wanted to let her take the lead on weaning. I enjoy the nursing myself and don't really have any reason to stop other than TTC. I'm afraid I'll regret it, especially if it turns out that's not the reason we can't conceive right now.

We did want a smaller age gap, but theoretically we could wait longer, still in our mid/late 20s.

So, wwyd?
