@Ginabean3: they probably have prenatal massages too. I agree that if you call they will be able to tell you right away.

The citrus all sounds amazing! And I think those are all safe oils-mostly to smell good, not detox your liver or cure cancer lol. Orange pomegranate, mmmm

@Ginabean3: I would think the wrap is out of the question because it will raise your core temperature as@yoursilverlining: mentioned and for a least part of the time you will have to lay on your stomach which wasn't comfortable anymore when I was 20 weeks. I know most spas have a list of treatments that you can have while pregnant so I'm sure if you call and ask they can set you up with something!

Most spas have policies about what treatments they offer to pregnant patients. I would call and ask. Whenever I book something they also always want to know how far along I'll be.

I think the main concern with body treatments is hitting the reflexology points that can induce labor; but I'll be honest, I think this concern is greatly overrated. Specific point reflexology isn't something that I think would accidentally happen doing your average massage.

I guess the other concern might be raising your core body temp; similar to the warning about hot tubs. The only time I've had wraps done at a spa I was laying on a heated treatment table and wrapped up, which probably did raise my core temp some. So, that might be something to ask about?

But, I had a lot of different spa treatments done when I was pregnant and all were gloriously relaxing! Have fun!

I would check into the essential oils. Some aren't good for pregnancy (Rosemary, I thunk?), but most are fine. You could probably call and ask as well.

So DH is going to a business retreat next month and I'm tagging along because it's at a nice resort. I want to get pampered and would love to go to the spa. Is it ok for a pregnant person to get a body treatment such as this?

"SIGNATURE CITRUS This customized body treatment with a choice of signature citrus essential oil blends includes an exfoliating scrub, a rejuvenating wrap and a hydrating massage with citrus body butter. Essential oil blends include cabernet and neroli blossom, citrus sorbet and orange pomegranate. "

I will be 20 weeks by that time.
