DS eats dinner with milk at 5pm and goes to bed by 730pm. Within an hour of dinner he usually starts motioning to the fruit bowl on the counter asking for a clementine or two. He might also have some dry cereal if he sees it out and whines. I've been giving in because he's been sick so often since starting daycare so I figure the clementines are good Vitamin C?? I usually cut him off on food by 7pm because we need to brush teeth and wind down.

K gets a snack in the afternoon (3'ish) and another at 5:00. We eat dinner at 6'ish and she's in bed at 7'ish. She eats a total of 6 times per day (Breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, late snack and dinner).

My 2.5 year old DOES wake up from hunger. But she's also not a deep sleeper and never has been so I imagine she wakes out of habit and then notices she's hungry. She's also pretty skinny, so I don't deny her food (she's something like 80% for height and 12% for weight). And she doesn't drink milks at all. Just water.

Anyway, we do dinner 6:30-7 pm and she's asleep by 8. She still wakes sometimes around 5 am asking for food and won't go back to sleep till she eats something like a pouch or banana. It depends on how big her dinner is. It may be because she doesn't get the milk so many other kiddos get.

K eats dinner with us around 6 and we finish around 6:30. Then she gets like 8 oz of milk before bed which can be anywhere from 7-8.

DS is 2 now but ever since 1 he has had dinner at 5pm, then a cup of milk with bedtime stories at 7 / 7.30. No more food til breakfast at 7.30am.
I wouldn't imagine it was hunger, sometimes my DS skips his whole dinner and I worry he'll wake up hungry but he never does!

@FaithFertility: it's probably a little developmental disruption or something. I would just continue to do things as you've always done and try not to create new habits or crutches for the wakeups. 9/10 times that my sons sleep has gotten wonky it corrects itself within a couple of weeks.
Good luck!

He eats at 5/5:30pm and goes to bed by 7pm at latest (sometimes 6:30). He has a cup of milk (5-6oz) with dinner and that's it.
He's been doing this since maybe 12-13 months (when we got rid of bedtime bottle).

We have the same problem. DD is 12.5 months and has been waking around 4 or 5. Normal wakeup is 6, and often that was us waking her up.

we've stuffed her full of a serious protein dinner the past few nights and it has helped big time!!! She has a bottle at 7 and falls asleep shortly after.

We eat dinner at 6, usually over around 6:30 and he gets as much milk with dinner as he wants....usually 3-5 oz? Bedtime is 730 - no nursing or milk at bed. We did milk at bed with DS1 and I didn't want to have to break that habit again (or brush teeth after). His sleep does't seem to correlate to how well he sleeps. But, you could always offer a snack around 7 to see how it goes!

What time is bedtime?

Before my LO gave up milk around 15 mo, she would have dinner at 630 then 5oz of milk at 730 and we put her down at 8. At this point (21 mo) she has a much heavier dinner around 6 or 6:30 and is down at 8 and she seems fine.

At 2.5 she starts dinner around 6:15, lasts until 7 most nights, then she plays for a few minutes before starting to get ready- usually in bed before 8.

At 14 months she was still nursing before bed though so I guess that's the same as an extra cup of milk.

DD is 14 months and has dinner around 5:00/5:30 ending at 6 she also has 6oz of milk that she has with dinner and finishes up usually around 6:30/7

We then do books, bath, and bed
Latley she has been waking MOTN and/or super early just trying to figure out why?!
Thinking she might be hungry?
Tonight she insisted on getting back in highchair at 7 so I gave her some cheerios and fruit and she ate it all...lol
