@peaches1038: this may sound silly but I started a little chart on grid paper, ever $5 I put into savings I mark a square. So if I pass up on coffee that's $5 saved. It sort of becomes a competition with myself and helps me push.

We are starting our first spending freeze on feb 1st! We've never done one so I thought choosing the shortest month would be a good idea haha. We are going to only buy groceries and gas. I'm most nervous about not eating out/getting delivery. Even though we usually only eat out 1x/week, it's so nice not to have to worry about dinner every.single.night. I'm super impressed with your savings! Good luck! You're almost there!!

Does anyone want to join me in a spending freeze this week? I've been doing it for this whole month, but it gets harder as the end of the month approaches. Things like groceries and necessities don't count but a Starbucks coffee, lunch out, a pair of shoes are no-goes! Basically saying no to anything that isn't necessary, but you can tweak your rules as you wish.

I've been able to put $233 into savings this month due to putting myself on a spending freeze, which may not seem like a lot to some, but being a one income family, it's huge! I'm hoping to continue as long as I can over the coming months.

Anyone up for the challenge for this week? :)
