oh no! I'm so glad he's OK. We had to take Baby Jumper to the ER when she was 5 months old, and it was the scariest experience in my life.

She is AWFUL with her shots. She screams for hours on end, doesn't want to eat or take a bottle, spikes a fever up to 103*, is restless, refuses to sleep, and has diarrhea. It's far for the course for her, and now we space our her shots a bit further -- we went at 6.5 months instead of 6, and 9.5 months instead of 9 (where she got her flu shot). It's helped TREMENDOUSLY & she is less prone to the awful side effects than before.

@heatherloveskenny: Glad to hear Elly did well! Not sure what the problem is but hoping it doesn't continue. His temp now is 101.4...my MIL is a nurse and went to the ER with us and is here now, thank God.

@coco bee: I'm not sure on the timeframe for adults. It says for kids under 6 months it could be as little as a few weeks for permanent results! I have my hair in a short(ish) bob because I'm less likely to default to a ponytail. Any time I wear it up I think people are staring at me...

@babyjmama: Oh my gosh that is SO cool. I always wanted surgery to fix my ears too - I refuse to wear my hair in a pony tail because I'm so embarrassed by them. My family says I grew into them, but I don't think so.

So it's $500 for 3 months... is 3 months all it takes? And do you know if you can use FSA dollars for it?

@coco bee: YES. Me too! Mine was "Elfie" or "Dopey" :( His are actually worse than mine...everyone says "He'll grow into them..." but they're pretty bad. :( We asked our pediatrician to look into this: http://www.sorribesonline.com/en/faq-en/sorribes-ear-method.aspx

@babyjmama: I totally have big ears too and hated them growing up, I got teased a lot and other kids called me "Alfalfa". I was hoping soo badly my baby wouldn't get them, and he did. Now everyone comments on his ears, they say they're cute. Which they are, since he's a baby. I just worry about when he's older :(

@pregnantbee: Sending good vibes for your kiddo! From what I've gathered it's SUPER uncommon for this to have happened, so sending love your way that you have no issues!

@coco bee: I know! :( He said "Woah! Which one of you did he get those ears from...?!" Um, seriously? THAT is what you're worried about? My kid has a fever OVER 103*...kiss my big eared arse!

We had plans for my bday all weekend and we've cancelled everything, just in case. I just can't hang out with people without completely ignoring them at this point.

I would probably be freaking out too. Did you do an oral or rectal temp? I had a nurse friend who told me to always to rectal when they are so little due to accuracy.

Yesterday was J's 2 month shots. We got home and we took a nap together once he calmed down. When we woke up he felt warm but that wasn't abnormal since he was napping on my chest. He cooled down some then later in the evening after he had been asleep in his crib I checked his temp again and it was 102.4...I freaked. DH called his mom (a nurse, she lives in a town just 25 min away) and she left work to come check J. I called the dr on call (not our dr, unfortunately) and that dr suggested that we just wait until that does of Tylenol kicked in, put a cool washcloth on his head and not hold him, let him cool down. If his fever increased or he continued to be fussy we were to call her back.

His temp went up to 103.2 so I called her and she told us to go to the ER. We were there for a few hours (with a HORRIBLE ER doctor btw...I wanted to punch him when he made fun of J's ears!) they did blood tests, his fever broke while we were there and his test results came back fine so we were sent home.

His temp remained normal the rest of the night (got home at 2am) and then just now his temp was up just a little bit...he'd been sleeping on my lap after he ate so I put him in his crib and will check him again in a little while. *sigh. I just want my little angel to be okay. :(

Did anyone else have a LO with a bad reaction to their shots??
