However I'm assuming the reason they didn't was the cost (considering the fact the kid is on public assistance--- they must not have much money). Which then on one hand you can say well-- if you can't afford artificial insemination/to keep your kid off welfare then its best you just don't have a kid, and it is hard to disagree. And looked into it just so they can get the assistance? Or the couple went to court to get the assistance and somehow the contract of parental rights was pulled up? Ugh. Not sure! A man responded to an online ad to donate his sperm to a couple but didn't go through a physician (I'm assuming because of the cost since the couple are in need of state assistance). He signed a waiver form of parental rights to clarify that he did not intend to be the father. The judge ruled that he now has to pay child support.</p> <p>I think it's kind of sad...I mean, going through an online ad and and donating unofficially is very risky but I think the fact that he signed the waiver should mean that he doesn't have to pay child support! </p>
