Yes. B got bit by a spider on the 4th of July. His foot turned bright red and was swollen up to the ankle. Our ped said that the swelling was likely just a hystemine reaction and that Benadryl would take care of it. She gave him a prescription for an antibiotic just in case though. After a day of the Benadryl/antibiotic combo all was back to normal.

We had a similar bite when LO was much smaller. It was a normal looking bite one day and blew up the next. If there is no pain when you touch it, it should be fine. In our case it was likely just a latent reaction.

When I picked up R yesterday she had a small red mark on her face. Her teacher and I looked and assumed it was mosquito bite. This morning it was swollen. But her teacher said she acted totally normal, but noticed it felt hard underneath. I took her to the store and the pharmacist thinks it is a spider bite, which is what her teacher said too. Going to call the pedi in the morning. Any experience with this?
