@artbee: Yeah I figured most people wouldn't think of it as STTN, that's why I specified length. I'm not sure what to do with breastfeeding because I get clogs if she goes too long so I've kinda kept the 8 hour topper on her, maybe the boobs would adjust but with her starting kinda starting solids this past month I'm fine with her waking up once in her 11 hour sleep stretch to bf.

I meant to include that in my original question in regards to length. The books say 6 hours...but I'm thinking more like 8 hours is STN for me. Or not waking up at 3am. My LO sleeps 5-6 hours but that means me getting up at 3am to feed. Not complaining but just curious.

@Maysprout: that's true, I don't know what I was thinking sleeping through the night meant either. I count it as my spoiled 12 hour nights. I know technically 6-7 hours is sleeping through the the night, but not in my world. I require a lot of sleep

charlie was 4 1/2 months old when we sleep trained, getting exclusive breast milk (i quit breastfeeding around that time and exclusively pumped), and has always slept in his own crib.

My LO sleeps in our room but not bed and is EBF, she's getting closer to 6 months and so has some tastes of food but it's not much of her diet yet.

I'm not sure what STN counts as but she'd sleep 6-7 hour stretches from maybe 6 days old, not every night but a lot of nights. I got mastitis when she was a couple weeks and so I was worried about clogging and started waking her up for a middle of the night feeding. Did that till she was maybe a month and a half, maybe less then decided it was unnecessary. Now at 5-1/2 months she'll have times where she'll wake up a couple times if she has a cold or something but her longest sleep period is usually a 6-8 hour stretch, and she's down for about 11 hour total at night before she starts looking around and cooing.

My LO was 5 weeks, on formula (I had to go on antibiotics and could not breastfeed for long), and slept in her room (crib).

Mavi started sleeping throught the night at 6 weeks, solely on breastmilk. Then at 3.5 months he had his wakeful period that lasted about 2 weeks and then I slept trained him. At that point he was on forumla and was eating cereral.

My LO slept through the night at 2 1/2 months.

I started formula at 1 week... breastfeeding just wasn't working for us. And she was in her crib in her own room at 1 1/2 months, which ended up being good for her b/c she's a very light sleeper. What ended up being the final kicker was stopping the swaddle. She's a thumb sucker, so the second she was able to find her thumb, she was able to sleep through the night. I was pretty upset that we didn't try that sooner!

So a spinoff from another thread...I found it interesting to read when everyone's LO began sleeping through the night. I know a lot of factors can play into this...so at what age did your LO begin sleeping through the night? What did they eat (breastfed, formula, 50/50, etc)? Where did they sleep (cosleep, crib in your room, crib in their room, bassinet, etc)? Just curious to see the differences based upon all the different options.
