I was my splurge before my wedding to keep my skin in check before the big day. It def keeps my skin cleaner and more exfoliated. I've also noticed less blackheads. We both use it. I have to say, it did not perform any miracles on my acne-prone face. But I do believe my face feels cleaner after using it (versus just hand-washing), and my breakouts may not last quite as long as they used to. I think it was worth the investment. I got the 'pro' one with a body setting too -- great for exfoliation. I love it. I've never had the best skin and it makes my skin so soft and my pores so small(?)... I did have a period of break outs from first using it, but that happens with it pulling up dirt to the surface.
