Actually he lost what I gained ~25 lbs!

We went for life insurance when we found out that I was pregnant (trying to be those responsible adults we hear about). He didn't like what his results were, so he started eating healthy and working out (which happened to coincide with me having morning sickness) so we both ate less and I cooked less. I gotta say that him just eating bagged salad made my life waaay easier!

Yes!! I was so sick the first trimester I lost 12 lbs but he gained 15 lbs. Before morning sickness, we'd usually cook healthy meals. Obviously I wasn't cooking when I was sick, so he ate out a lot and didn't pay close attention to portion sizes. I'm 25 weeks now, and his weight gain has leveled off and he's trying to lose the weight before the baby comes.

I feel like a horrible wife, but its really hard for me to be supportive of his weight loss efforts when I'm gaining weight (at a healthy pregnancy rate).

Yes, yes he has! Not sure how much exactly but his pants fitting snug and having to buy a new belt 2 inches longer has confirmed it! And I still have 3 months to go! lol

DH is trying to lose a few pounds (we both gained a few pre-pregnancy) and I'm trying to help....no more take out during the week. (Written as I eat a Snickers Fun Size at my desk...chased by a TUMS).

My pregnancy happened to be right after my husband had surgery. He was way too thin because he was sick, and after his surgery he was able to gain much needed weight. So yes he gained, but it wasn't due to my pregnancy.

No way! The hubs actually LOST a couple of pounds when I was pregnant (stress at the thought of being a parent?) and lost even more weight when the baby was born (stress of being a parent?). He's so skinny, though. SIGH. His new year's resolution is to gain all the weight I am attempting to lose. HA!

@mrbee: my SO was totaly preganant with me. Besides the weight gain he had random cravings, trouble sleeping at night and aches and pains in his back!! It was absolutely hilarious and we laughed about it all the time. So glad he was with me and keeping me such good company. 5 months pp he weighs less than even before the pregnancy, with all the running around and me not eating for two anymore certainly helped!

Actually, DH has been on a total health kick for the last few months, and is dropping weight like crazy. I think the idea of being a dad and not being able to keep up with a LO made him unhappy about his fitness level, so back to the gym, and counting calories we go.

Sadly, I gained 11 pounds of sympathy weight... I'm not even sure it was true sympathy weight. I just didn't watch my diet as much as I have been doing lately. Still, it's nice to blame my wife's pregnancy for my lack of willpower haha!

I've been working hard to change my diet though, and have lost 7 pounds of the weight. Soon my sympathy weight will be a thing of the past!

Did your SO gain sympathy weight during your pregnancy? Has your SO worked it off yet, or is it a new part of the family. :-)
