I don't. If its their house then I dont want to make them or their guests feel uncomfortable.

Depends on where I am. I feel like I can usually tell whether it would make people uncomfortable or not (the home of our hippie friend with a small child of her own? totally fine. my aunt's house in front of many conservative relatives? I'll head to the guest bedroom), and if I'm not sure, I'll ask.
I'm an introvert anyhow, so usually if I'm at someone's house long enough that I am going to be nursing, I actually kind of welcome the chance to go off and be by myself, and if there's someone I really want to spend time with, I'll ask them to come with me.

I nurse everywhere and in front of anyone now, but I do it with DD in the Ergo so you really don't know unless you asked. No one has had an issue with it and it just looks like she's napping. I love my Ergo!

I usually ask if I can use a private room somewhere. If I have to do it in a public living space, I'll use a cover.

I had to deal with this today at my ILs house. I just asked my MIL (who has 8 kids) where about the best place to sit and nurse him. I let her know I have a cover. She told me to go wherever I'm comfortable so I stayed in the living room on the couch next to BIL. I have him a warning that I was going to feed the baby and he didn't have an issue and commented that he had been around his other SIL when she nursed (she has 4 kids).

I always would ask 'where should I feed him?' I'm in the 'your house - your rules' camp. Everyone always just said to nurse wherever anyway.

I guess it depends on the friend. I won't do it in front of my husband's family though....breastfeeding isn't done "in public" (that includes in front of anyone but your husband) there. I found that out because I asked my husband's mom because I read on some breastfeeding around the world website that everyone in their country does it at any time and it's seen as very natural. And she said, absolutely not. People would be shocked and offended unless you are a lower cast person who also pees on the side of the road. And come to think of it, I never saw my SIL do it in front of us, even with a cover.

So....that's a no-go. haha

I'll nurse in front of family but I always felt more comfortable nursing privately. My friends don't care but I always asked to use a private room or area to nurse.

If they're comfortable with it, yes. So far I haven't come across anyone who wasn't so most of the time I'll breastfeed on the couch in the living room. If it's a gathering with lots of people I'd probably ask to go to a bedroom or somewhere more quiet as LO gets super distracted in crowded rooms.

I'm a rabid breastfeeder-in-public, but I wouldn't do it at someone's house if they weren't comfortable with it. Your house - your rules. Now, I'd likely not go back, but still. It's never happened.

I intend to. I see it this way - if you invited me to your house, you invited my baby. This is what babies do, it's a non-issue for me and it should be a non-issue for you. If it isn't.... that's something you need to work through. I'll help you. ;)

If someone asked me to leave the room to nurse, I wouldn't visit them again.

Just had LO a month ago, and will be spending extended time at someone else's house for the first time on Xmas day. I will probably nurse in the same room as everyone. It will be all family.

I totally do, without a cover. Once I was over at my best friends house & she had a male friend over. I kind of half apologized - he shrugged and said : "all i can see is the back of baby's head". I quit worrying after that.

I'll also BF in front of my best friends 10yrold. She came to visit me in the hospital & got all redfaced at first. Her mom & I just laughed it off & now she doesn't even flinch.
