@sulli301: wow, i'd like to see that! do you have the link?

@mediagirl: check it out at http://www.ziplist.com. you can search the database for recipes and add them to your recipe box. or you can input your own recipes. and then if you want to cook a dish, there is an option to add all the ingredients you need to a shopping list. i love that option. plus sometimes i'll be at the grocery store and feel like cooking something but i don't know exactly what i need so i can just log in via my iPhone.

@bluestriped bee: hope you like it!

@Andrea: What is zip list?

I will write them on a note card if they are a favorite. I will also pin, bookmark, star and email them to myself. I have a lot of cookbooks, too that I dog-ear.

I don't use recipes unless I am baking, and for that I have sheets printed out that I can tape to a cabinet for easy referral.

I don't have the desire to cook dinner using a recipe, I just want to get dinner on the table in a reasonable time so I tend to cook things that don't require a lot of steps.

I still use my recipe card box & I love it but I just recently made a menu board (inspired by a pin on pinterest!) that I am so excited to use! The recipes are color-coded by type & the recipes themselves hang below the board. SO organized...I love it :)

OMG. Zip list is just what I need! This is a great idea. Signing up now.

Currently, I print out recipes to fit into my recipe box and I have a few cook books that I use.

Zip list sounds interesting. I have a binder for when we used to print out recipes we like. And we have a few cookbooks. But I mostly just tag recipes on my phone now.
That reminds me. It's the beginning of the week. Gotta figure out our meals plans for the week. Sigh.

It's so bad... most of my go-to's are in my head! Others - I just look up online... MIL is putting a recipe book together of all the old, family recipes.

I use a combination of computer files and a photo book that my MIL put together for my husband with all of her recipes. The photo book is the perfect size for index cards, I have little tabs for veggie, meat, dessert, etc- so I have kept that format and use it the most.

I've never heard of Zip List, it definitely sounds like something I'll have to look into!

I'm very old school. Hubby tried to get me to use my calendar on my phone and it just didn't work for me, I need things written down in front of me. For my non cookbook recipes I have a recipe box. Everything goes in there.

If I'm making something from the internet I won't print it out or write it down until we've eaten it and I know we like it.

I do a variety of things like index cards, saving magazine tear outs in a folder, tagging recipes on Google Reader, Pinterest, but I think I'm going to migrate everything to Zip List. I've been using it for a few months now and I can input all my recipes on there so I can access them from the grocery store. It's easy to search and it will create shopping lists for you with one click. So efficient!

How do you keep those recipes not from cook books organized? Do you use apps like Zip List?
