But my health plan has a 24-hour nurse triage line, so it's not a huge deal to call after hours. I haven't actually called outside of appointment times yet (except for a yeast infection to get advice). Almost called last week due to some lower pelvic pain and back ache, but it quickly resolved itself. So at my appointment yesterday, I just asked my doc for clarification on when I should call for that. She said "anytime", but then gave me details on when I NEED to call. My doctor ended up giving me his personal cell phone number so I can call him if I need to. We have know each other since I was a little girl, but it's also because he is an awesome doctor. I only called after I had timed my contractions for two hours though. The other time was because I thought I was having contractions again, and the doctor told me to drink lots of water and lay on my side and they ended up going away.
