Don't refer to them as "the twins" all of the time! My brother and sister are twins (16 now) and I know this kills them!! Make sure you refer to them as individuals also even though everyone knows thet are twins! I will try to think of some more also!!

My nieces are fraternal twins - I know my sister spends/spent a lot of time on 'twin' specific boards and a moms of multiple group that was local. Hope you get good feedback here, but something to check out for more varied feedback :) I know my nieces naturally just gravitated towards different things and interests and were encouraged to do so and are very independent from one another at school although they're in the same class.

I think all the time about how to help our boys have a really special bond but also feel like they are individuals with their own talents, interests, and personalities. We aren't giving them matchy match names and don't plan on dressing them alike every day or anything, but I really don't know what I should or should do to help them navigate twin waters. Both my grandmas were twins, but they were super close to their twins (and obviously any childhood "twin" issues were long before my time), so that doesn't give me much insight.

Some comments on another thread made me curious to hear from our Hellobee twins, siblings of twins, etc. what helped you and your twin (or whatever twins you know) to develop a healthy, strong relationship with each other or what do you think would have helped, didn't help, etc.? Any ideas what we can do as parents to help foster a unique bond but still emphasize individuality?
