You just get used to it, I am not scarred for life by any means. I even like my name. The pros to common names are that everyone knows how to spell it and how to pronounce it. The con is like what someone mentioned, that there is always another Jenny in the class. And not being unique def bothered me growing up. I didn't even look at popularity, we picked family names we like. We literally just made a list of grandparents and great grandparents, my husband picked his favorite names, and I loved his choices (I'd like any old person name) and that was it.</p> <p>I'd prefer for it not to be soooo popular, but I'm still planning on using the same name if we have a boy next, I'm not going to not use it because of it's popularity. So one out of 100 doesn't seem too bad in terms of popularity! I was constantly Ashley H and sometimes had to go by my entire last name because there was another Ashley H in several of my grade school classes. It was a little annoying, but it didn't scar me or anything. At least everyone was familiar with the name and knew how to spell it! And, it was really only a problem in school.
