I hated it. I do much better working out the math than memorizing tables. I dunno. We didn't really learn arithmetic because a lot of kids were in Kumon so they gave the rest of us calculators.</p> <p>I tutored for a tutoring company in high school and we had to start every session with a timed math test. Like, you got a sheet with 100 math problems and had 5 minutes to try to get them all right?</p> <p>I loved doing these in 2nd grade! We had them for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Once you got a perfect score in 5 minutes, you moved on to a harder test.
