I don't see the point in attending if you can't/don't choose to bring something along. Everyone brought additional gifts if they visited me in the hospital and/or at home postpartum (but smaller gifts, such as a baked pie or an outfit for baby, rather than baby gear).</p> <p>I do the same! No way would I attend a shower without a gift. If I can't attend, then I will visit postpartum and bring a gift. And if I visit someone in a hospital, I always bring flowers. Or went to a shower without a gift?</p> <p>We have a few, notorious non-gifters in DH's family, and it has crossed my mind that they might show up empty handed at my shower next month.</p> <p>I feel like it's a little easier to attend a wedding without bringing a gift, since it goes unnoticed at the actual event. However, since most baby showers are often much smaller, and include a designated time to unwrap goodies, I figured it would be much harder to show up without a treat. </p>
