My mama bear comes out when my poor lo is screaming her head off ( also doesn't like to be away from mommy and daddy ) and people don't want to give her back. They'd rather her scream bloody murder, in their arms. So I've been known to just rip her out of people's arms...including her grandma :(

My mama bearness came out in the NICU with my first baby. Almost all the nurses were so nice and gentle but there was 1 nurse who was not so tender, I guess is the word. She was alittle rough in handling all the little preemies. I watched her with other babies just to make sure it wasn't just ours she was rough with. So every time she was my baby's shift nurse, I made sure to stay especially close to the incubator and ask if I could take his temp or adjust him to a different position. I tried to keep her away from him as much as possible as long as he was stable.

@808love: oh my goodness. A family member called a baby a little brat? I would have been all over that. It makes me sad to hear that. The baby doesn't know any better yet. :-(

My baby wouldn't go to a family member because she was going through her separation anxiety phase and so the family member said, "You little brat" under her breath. GRrrrrr. I glared and said, "She's NOT a brat!" I was so sad/hurt/mad for my babe since she was so defenseless and didn't understand a word!

I am also very protective of my little sweet chubby cheeked baby-faced elementary school student, as well. Nobody messes with him and gets away with it.

For Halloween, our family dressed up like the 3 bears (wearing my husband's Chicago Bears gear/baby uniform pajamas) and brought a Goldilocks doll. I was so happy to let my MamaBear take physical form!

I don't have an incident, but I know my SO's sister is a witch and has said stuff about me and I told my SO, IF she says something about my baby, she better not let it get back to me because I will NUT.UP. on her.

Say what you want about me all day long, but my baby? That's a cause to get a witch. LOL

Babylove was posting about how her "new momma bearness" is out of control... and how it's making very protective of not only her LO, but her whole family.

A bunch of people agreed, and I have to say that I have noticed this in myself too!

Post your mama bear stories here... have you defended your family and/or LO in ways that have surprised you?
