@MamaMoose: That's who my current provider is! I wonder if they'll work with us if we go independent since we are already a client of there's?

When I was in between jobs I did an individual plan through United Health Care. The coverage was great and the premiums were reasonable so I would look into using them.

@chopsuey119: I'll have to keep Costco in mind in the future! Hubby is self employed and we have insurance through my company. I'm trying to figure out if continuing to work after we have kiddos for the insurance will make or break the deal of being a SAHM.

@Alivoo01: DH is self employed (sorta). We have insurance through Costco. Premiums are low, but we're learning that coverage kinda sucks. -.-
Will be interesting to see how much of my pregnancy + hospital they'll cover.
Our previous insurance's premiums were about double, but they covered EVERYTHING. No co-pays for my OB visits and we paid $500 for labor+delivery+etc.

I'd be interested in hearing these stories too! DH is very interested in passive income and self-employment. I already work from home and am partially self-employed, but don't have any insurance through the company I work for.

There's a been a lot of talk lately of being a SAHM vs WOHM. For those SAHM's, do any of you have a self employed hubby? How did insurance work out for you? Were premiums higher? What kind of coverage did you opt for/want in your plan?
