I would say atleast 5. Not just b/c I think they'd remember more, but b/c they'd enjoy it more.... long lines, lots of walking, and the younger they are the less they'll actually be able to do.

@regberadaisy: I would definitely wait until 5 years if it will be your big trip for the year and you're concerned about her remembering it.

I think somewhere between 4-6 years old. I'd want them to be old enough to remember it.

hubs and i always agreed that we wouldn't take em until she was old enough to remember. but then his family decided to go including his parents that had never been before. i knew we couldn't miss out on something so special. plus disney is awesome. so, we took em at 18m and it went really well. she loved it. and crazy enough we're taking her again later this year when she'll be 2 1/2 years old. we're going with our best friends who also have kids and their youngest is em's age. i gotta say, disney does make vacationing pretty easy...

I took LO to Disneyland at 2 years old because we were in L.A. visiting family at the time, I got in free for my birthday and she was in this Mickey Mouse phase. We had a blast... She had so much fun and so did I since I hadn't been in over a decade. I showed her pics recently and she doesn't remember going, but she really enjoyed seeing the pics!

We'll next take her at 4 years old. That's what I voted for in the poll (4-5). I think at 3, it is okay to take them, but at 4, they will understand, remember and enjoy it even more. I also in general think it's significantly easier to do things in general (especially travel) with a 4 year old than a 3 year old. A year makes such a difference... She follows directions much better, is much more independent and has much less tantrums. She is also really, really into Disney now more than ever before.

We're in NY State so when we take LO to DW it'll def be our big trip of the year. So we're not close enough to go yearly.
I want to take her at a age where she can remember the experience and be tall enough to go on kiddie rides! So I might just have to look that up. :)

Good tip that it's free before they're 3 though! hahah.

We plan on taking him right before he's 3 so that he can go for free. :) We live close to Disneyland so we'll probably make it a yearly tradition for the family. My LO is in LOVE with Mickey right now and has no idea that Disneyland even exists! He'll be SO excited and so will I. I love Disney!

We just recently went again with friends who have an 7 year old and a 3 year old. They both had a blast. Of course, the older one could go on every ride, and was tall enough to go on his first roller coaster, but the 3 year old was seriously getting down with Pooh. And he rode a bunch of the rides. He might not remember much as he gets older, but he truly had fun and it was awesome to see them both so happy.

We live near Disneyland so we go often. We took them very early. My oldest was six weeks when we first went. Obviously that was not for his sake because at six weeks they can't fully enjoy it. Just recently though they started to get it. My oldest is three and my twins are two and a half. Last time we went they talked about going and what they wanted to do. Then when we got home they talked about going back.

They would have a great time at early ages. The nice thing is before 3 you don't have to pay for them. We have been talking about a major trip (we are in Cali) when our boys are 7 or 8. That would make our daughter five. I think if it's a major trip that you might only do once then I would wait untill they are older. If its something you could to often you might as well go and have a great time!

Any age is good to go to Disney. My niece and nephew lived close by and always went. When they were babies we were able to take them on most of the rides. They may not remember it, but it is so kid and baby friendly!

I LOVE Disney World and can't wait to take our LO to Disney World!

I already started thinking of budget options to travel to DW! Please do share btw.

The point of my thread is what do you think is a good age to take your LO to Disney World?
Have you taken your LO to DW yet? What age were they, how did it work out for you?

Are you planning to take your LO to Disney World? If so, what age?
