<description>&#60;p&#62;I had huge amounts of really unexpected anxiety after my mum passed away and what helped me was acupuncture. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who was having more than just the occasional bout of anxiety.

&#60;p&#62;I also take a bath with a nice relaxing scented candle, go for a walk, call my mom (I'm a momma's girl) or have DH give me a massage.

 Lately I've found that when I can't sleep because of worry/anxiety, I practice positive visualization (I have few &#34;scenes&#34; that I practice).

<description>&#60;p&#62;Nothing helps at all. I am not pregnant but I have social anxiety and generalized anxiety disorder. Nothing calms me down, nothing stops my attacks. I basically ride them out. If I am having an anxiety attack and I try and calm myself down or slow my breathing or think of my anxiety at all it trigger an even bigger attack and then I snowball from there. I really can't think of anything more fun :/

<description>&#60;p&#62;I had bad anxiety while pregnant....so bad that sometimes my DH would have to stay home from work. What helped me was prayer, talking things out with someone I loved, taking baths with candles lit, and doing things to busy myself that had to do with the baby, like folding her clothes or doing something for her nursery.

I would just get up and bake something rather than lay there, thinking about whatever it was that was bothering me. It was a way to get my mind off of it and create midnight snacks, which probably also helped the stess

<description>&#60;p&#62;I get nighttime panic attacks, and what helps me most often is to consciously listen to myself breathing in and out, drinking water, walking around and watching an old (usually bad, haha) sitcom. &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;I know panic isn't the same as anxiety, but the idea is the same - distract yourself from the bad thoughts.

&#60;p&#62;Whenever I am upset or can't sleep, I try to visualize my daughter as a newborn baby, swaddled up and cozy in my arms, and she's drifting off to sleep. It always helps me feel relaxed.
