I'd start off with a vegetarian combo platter if I were you- nothing spicy, and nothing particularly crazy- the bread is probably the most unusual part of the meal. I have had Russian! My friend's wife is Russian and her mom makes some amazing stuff!!! You eat it all with the bread that they give you, rather than with silverware, so you have to like the taste of their bread. It can be an acquired taste for some people, but I love it. I've had: Chinese (obviously) Shanghainese Taiwanese Japanese Vietnamese Korean Thai Malaysian Moroccan Mediterranean (falafel, tabouli, etc) Greek (IN Greece) Italian (IN Italy!) Dominican (our old tenant when I was younger, she made such good food!) Puerto Rican Cuban Irish (IN Ireland!) German (IN Germany, woot!) French (IN France!) English (pub food in England!) Jamaican Mexican Polish Cajun/Creole (never tried what I would consider "authentic") ETA: Indian! I feel like there's more I'm missing... Top of my I want to try list is Ethiopian.
