Normally I like to explore when I go on vacation, and I obsessively plan what we're going to do, where we're going to eat. This was the first vacation where we didn't leave our resort, didn't plan anything, and just relaxed on the beach/by the pool. We stayed at a fancy hotel on the beach where we live. We rode the Jolly Trolley to the aquarium to see Winter the dolphin (from the movie Dolphin's Tale), both things I had been begging my hubby to do. I stayed in the pool for hours because it was summer and I was 9 months pregnant and it was so so nice! DH has been doing a lot of traveling for work (6 weekends away) and a week's vacation seemed like too much. It wasn't as glamorous as it sounds (pretty much a little cottage, only the master bedroom was air conditioned so I pretty much did not leave that room) but we had a great time touring all the little towns on the vineyard and having picnics on the beach. It was very low-key, but that's our style. It was still a little expensive, even with the free lodging-- it costs $150 to get your car onto the vineyard!!! and of course the restaurants are crazy overpriced. Any TTC bees planning on a babymoon?</p> <p>DH &amp; I are in our 3rd cycle of TTC, with 2012 being the first year without any planned vacations. I'd love to do (pregnant or not) a long weekend getaway to San Fran or Boston or somewhere US coastal this summer/fall... but only time will tell for us-- how about you? </p>
