My dad has his doctorate in elementary education so maybe that's why I have a bit of different experience but I feel like parent child interaction now is so structured and different than normal play used to be. I think now, though, parents play with their kids SO much because they feel it helps them in their development (physical? Mental?) - Like, the more active they are, the smarter they can be? I don't know.
