Our logic for vaxing on schedule is the same. Often, it's not possible to decouple vaxes and if you don't do them on the schedule, they could be less effective, which is something that could result in more shots.</p> <p>I do recommend checking titers, though, to confirm immunity. We are delaying shots such that he only gets one new shot each month but we will do multiple shots if he's already had them. We will also do combo shots as combos. I just don't want all that stuff pumping through him all at the same time. I have noticed (completely Unscientifically) that once a person reacts to something they react to a lot of things. For instance babies with milk intolerance can become allergic to many foods because the body didn't know what to fight. I feel pretty strongly that not vaccinating against communicable diseases is a very risky prospect for the population as a whole. Luckily DD reacted just fine to her first round of vaccines. (My sister has an immune disorder and can't receive any but it is important for her health that everyone around her is vaccinated. The delay is to make sure our lo does not have the same condition present at birth) </p> <p>I am happy to bring lo in for multiple appointments to spread them out. For us the benefits out weigh the risks but I wish there were some well documented studies about doing several vaccinations at once. I researched it a lot and I know there are some that I won't have DS get, like the hep B newborn shot I found totally unnecessary, but others like tetanus I feel may be necessary but I plan to wait.<br /> At least for now, we're waiting to vaccinate and may do only a few (not all).</p> <p>What are you going to do? </p>
