@T-Mom: Thanks for replying. I am going to join the spiral vegetables band wagon and get this for me. I need to give up or reduce noodles (my fave) and rice to lose this baby weight!

@Kimberlybee: I just bought this as a gift so I haven't used it myself but it looks way nicer than my paderno 3 blade. If I didn't have one already i would totally buy it because I like the levers for attaching to the counter and how the blades change more easily.

I recently ordered one of the hand-twist spiralizers and I hate it! Argh!! It really hurts my arm and you end up wasting a lot of the veggies because you can't twist them down to the blades without sacrificing your fingers. The crank versions seem to be worth the money.

@Smurfette: I let them sit on paper towels to remove some water and I only cook them for maybe 2 mins - just enough to get warm in the pan

@mrsjazz: ok, that makes more sense. I will try the colander and see if that helps with the water issue. thanks!

@Smurfette: I cook them! Depending on what I'm making I sautee them after that whole process above. But sometimes I just put the warm sauce right over when I want them a bit crunchier.

@Smurfette: after you make the zucchini into noodles put them in a colander with kosher salt for about 15 minutes. The salt will pull out some of the water. Then rinse and pat dry with paper towels. It definitely helps but requires a bit more time.

I love my Spiralizer! I have the one in the link above. I love inspiralized.com for recipes.

I like broccoli stem noodles (these are a little harder to do but yum) and parsnip noodles.

I do a lot of zucchini noodles though they get wet/soggier faster so I started experimenting.

@Mamaof2: I have heard paderno is a good "crank" style one...rather than the cheaper "twist" ones which I have heard mixed reviews of!

I am loving the idea of cucumbers, zuchinni and carrots served in salads. I make a LOT of greek salads - so this is super appealing!

Plus I just like the options I feel like this tool gives you to incorporate veggies...I get so sick of "chop chop chop...boil boil boil..."

Thanks for the good review!

I have an older Paderno, so 3 blades.

I use it the most for sweet potatoes - then add EVOO and cinnamon and bake - YUM!!!

I also like doing cucumbers for a greek salad

Another fav is zucchini then add vodka sauce and chicken

My kids like to spiralize too! Apples are fun!

So - I am wrapping up a mini pre-baby shopping spree and the last thing I wanted to indulge myself in was a Spiralizer.

Complex carbs are my nemesis and I generally struggle at getting in enough veggies during the day. I am hoping to come out of this pregnancy and take much better care of myself. I have been eyeing a spiralizer...specifically the Paderno 3 or 4 blade...

Opinions? Reviews? Fav recipes/methods?

I found some older threads on this but wanted to refresh opinions!
