@Foodnerd81: funny, I was just wondering if she's been doing it more because she's at that super drooly stage?! Drool and spit up - yuck!

My pediatrician said the same as @creativemomma15: - as long as it's not really bothering her and she's gaining and happy, just keep burp cloths everywhere and out big bibs on her. My younger one spits up more than big sis did too.

Also if she is mucousy that can definitely gag her and cause more spitting up- including the projectile fountain spit up. I asked the ped just in case.

@birdofafeather: I wouldn't be worried about it if she is happy & gaining. All of my kids were spit up like this. Our first was the worst with so much spit up sometimes you wondered how he grew! Our ped always said as long as they were content and no multiple projectile crazy puking they were fine.

DD2 is almost 5 months and has been spitting up more and more. she always needed to be burped and would take a while to settle in the MOTN, but now falls right back asleep and can burp herself, but those burps are filled with either straight milk or curdled milk. a lot of the time it's right after a feed, but she also does it an hour after or even after a nap before she's nursed again. DD1 almost never needed to even be burped, so this is brand new to me!

is it something i need to look into more (reflux? allergies?) (she's gaining eight and sleeps like an average 5 month old, is way happy) or just have to make sure i have burp cloths on me at all times and just be resigned to soaking all my clothes and hers in oxiclean?
