I always wear a swimsuit. We love to play in the water with LO and she loves the spray park even though we have a pool at our house too.

I think you get more wet at some than others. The only one we've been to so far doesn't get you too wet unless you go right into it, which LO doesn't like to do anyway. I wear regular casual clothes and flip flops. LO wears her swimsuit and water shoes. I don't even put a swim diaper on her though because she doesn't get wet enough to where a regular diaper would swell. I've noticed most of the moms have on regular clothes but usually they are shorts or work out type clothes. I had on rolled up jeans last time which felt kind of weird but I hadn't shaved my legs :silly:

I think it depends on your kid too. My LO is definitely a sit back and watch for awhile kind of kid, so unless one of her buddies is there to entice her to go play without me, I will probably be getting wet and prefer to wear a swimsuit and shorts. Plus it's hot, so I don't mind playing in the water.

The first time, I did not wear a swimsuit, and that was a gigantic mistake. See my IG for how far in my child wanted to wade. :silly: I got completely soaked. Next time, I am wearing a suit!!

DS wears his swimsuit with a rash guard and water shoes. I wear a swimsuit with quick drying shorts. DS likes me to get wet/play with him. If there's other kids he knows playing with him, he's more willing to go on his own, but I dress appropriately just in case. I didn't once (wore regular street clothes), and had to get wet in order for DS to warm up and play on his own. That wasn't fun.

I just wore my swimsuit. It's what most of the other moms were doing. I had shorts on at first, but just found that annoying. So off they came. I'm pretty sure I took my shoes off, too.

I wear clothes that can get wet- like workout clothes usually, that won't be uncomfortable to walk home in still damp. And flip flops. We are going to city splash pads and I don't trust either of us being barefoot, but I see plenty of other kids and some adults barefoot. C wears a rash guard and swim bottom and her water shoes.

At our splash pad you do get soaked so I bought a long sleeve rash guard and a swim skirt to wear with Crocs. My son wears a rash guard and swim trunks and a sun hat.

It is totally not a dumb question...I took a field trip to check out our splash pad before I took my kid there so I'd know what to wear/bring :)

He's 16 months and when he's feeling it, he will run around without much help from me. He's in a swim diaper, swim trunks and rash guard. Bare feet, because I found shoes are too slippery. He is generally drenched, so I change him into clothes before we drive home.

I usually wear workout clothes because then I can get wet without caring too much, but I'm really not so soaked that I need a swimsuit. There are a lot of water features at our splash pad though -- colorful metal pipes that dump and spray and turn off/on at random, so it's possible to get pretty wet.

E is really happy to do his own thing, but I wear shorts and a tank or something, and just take my shoes off. I might get a little wet, because E likes to splash me, but nothing that doesn't dry fast :)

When my LO was around a year old, I wore a full on swimsuit with swim shorts or a swim skirt a few times, although most parents were wearing regular clothes. But it was HOT and I wanted to get in, plus my LO played more and longer if I went in with her.

This summer, being hugely pregnant, I just sat on the sidelines....and also LO was 2, so more comfortable just doing her own thing. A few times she would be hesitant to get in the (super cold) water and I would go with her to a smaller jet and get in, only getting my legs wet (with some splatter on my clothes).

When we take DS we have him dressed in his swimsuit and rashgaurd, since DS is still young (14 months) and cant sit still for very long there isn't much time for me to change so I just go in and play in some clothes I don't mind getting wet. When DH comes along he will also just go in what he is wearing as well. As long as you aren't running directly through the jets of water you won't get soaked, just maybe a little damp. If its sunny outside it usually doesn't take too long to dry off anyway ;)

When you take your LO to the splash pad, do you wear swim gear/water shoes? Do you end up getting very wet, or do you just sit on the sideline and stay dry while the LOs play?

I know this is a dumb question, but I've never been to a splash pad and want to be prepared!
