Oops sorry, didn't realize it had already been posted!

@MrsSCB: That pretty much sums up how I felt about it too - like, one second you're the loving parent to two children, and the next it's more convenient to reject the one that's not biologically yours? It just doesn't sit right with me.

Here's my take on this -- while the kids never lived together and may not really know or care about this in the future, it just boggles my mind that these two parents are ok with doing this over more traditional shared custody. Because when these babies were conceived, they were still a couple, they had plans of being a parent to twins, to both babies. I just can't believe a divorce could be so acrimonious that they go from looking forward to being fathers of two, to "this baby is YOURS and this baby is MINE." Hopefully that makes sense lol.

The kids never lived together, as far as I understand? And the parents have said they want to live closer together over time, so the kids can spend time together...

Yea, I think it was mrsjazz who posted about.

I found it pretty infuriating... I feel like this about most divorce & custody happenings though in how it affects the child(ren).

Someone posted about this a little while back and it really broke my heart. How horrible for the kids. More convenient for the parents obviously (in this case, they each get "their own" kid and they can live totally separate lives and never have to work together to raise their kids) but that is really really sad.

I was just reading about how David Tutera and his partner are handling child custody in their divorce and was pretty horrified to find out that they are splitting up their twins. Their logic is apparently that it's better because the twins are only half-siblings since they share a mom, but one was conceived (through IVF) using David's sperm, and the other using his partner's. I don't know - I guess that makes it easy to choose which child goes with which parent, but it seems like a huge disservice to the children. What do you think?
